COCC’s once-a-year scholar artwork exhibition debuts new, digital format

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) — Showcasing additional than 100 works of artwork, Central Oregon Community College’s on the net university student artwork exhibition options top tasks from this earlier tutorial calendar year in media ranging from sculptural ceramics and painting to graphic design and style and vector art.

“In a year of remote and on the web studying, any variety of faculty course has had an extra layer of problem,” claimed Venus Nguyen, coordinator of the exhibition and instructor of 2D and electronic art at COCC. “Studio artwork courses, in particular, can be even far more hard than most. As a result of all the adversity that this college year has brought, our college students in the visual arts have continued to comply with their enthusiasm and build.”

The exhibition options 106 pieces in all, with all work nominated for inclusion by instructors. Typically held at the college’s Pence Pinckney Gallery for the duration of spring expression, this year’s exhibition shifted to a digital format, in reaction to the pandemic.

Bend artist Nancy Floyd, an emerita professor from the Ernest G. Welch College of Artwork and Design at Ga State University, served as the exhibition’s juror. “I am amazed by the technical accomplishments and conceptual breakthroughs that the pupils at COCC display,” she stated.
