Diagrams Sketched on the Wind: An Exhibit of Visible Art & Poetry in Conversation will open up on Friday, March 5, from 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. at Tioga Arts Council’s gallery situated at 179 Front St. in Owego.
Ekphrastic poetry describes visual art it’s a observe in Western society at minimum as outdated as Homer’s description of Achilles’ protect in the Iliad. The dialogue concerning poets and visible artists has led to some of our greatest art.
In the tradition of ekphrasis, this show and chapbook assemble visible function produced in and about Tioga County and pairs it with poetic responses to that work. The poets represented herein come from the southern tier of New York and from Washington, Virginia, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Alabama, and Manhattan. Just about every poet techniques the visual artwork they are participating from a various angle. There are 11 artists and 10 poets showcased in this exhibition.
The exhibition will open throughout Owego First Friday, but there will be no official reception. All people are essential to dress in masks and notice social distancing though in the gallery.
