MARION – He’s an artist extraordinaire whose talent prospered from the good and endured throughout the tragic.

Obenour subsequently went into the food items and beverage business in Columbus “for a long time.” During these years, he did some paintings and drawings. But it was not right up until he returned residence to Marion in 2007 that he began accomplishing his artwork total-time.
“I was inspired by my mothers and fathers — and following a buddy took me to the Marion Popcorn Pageant art clearly show, which inspired me once more,” he reported.
Obenour grew up on Marion Marysville Street close to Marion Place Club.
“As a child I would, at times, enjoy drawing and painting,” he recalled. “I considered about getting to be a priest, a fireman or law enforcement officer, along with, potentially, an artist.”
He went to Pleasurable Schools, then graduated from Columbus College of Art & Style.
“I wished to go into style design and illustration,” he explained, “yet I excelled at painting.”
Right after his education, and soon after his brother’s passing, Obenour worked “at various higher-stage restaurants.” These times, on the other hand, he enjoys doing abstracts and photorealism, “and combining the two to create something distinctive.”

Most not long ago, he’s been working on the Korean War mural in downtown Marion.
“My murals are finished from the coronary heart,” he explained. “They’re motivated by the visions I acquire when l have a dialogue with a particular person to do that locale.”
“William is a wonderful individual,” assessed local artist Ben Kern. “I’ve identified him for about 12 many years and have worked with him at the Guild for nearly as long, and I enormously admire his generosity and devotion in sharing his art/time/strength with our group. He goes previously mentioned and further than with each task he requires on. His perception for composition and colour decision are constantly just suitable. His most latest mural function at Harbor Seafood and the Marion County Setting up are fantastic illustrations of this.”
“Life is a journey,” Obenour responded, “and it’s been an attention-grabbing journey, for certain. I’m accomplishing the finest I can, to make the biggest variation I can. It’s a person working day, and one job, at a time until eventually each and every one particular is accomplished.”
