BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – This has been a tricky week for all of us. So for No cost New music Friday, we needed to finish the week with a notice of positivity.
Neighborhood singer-songwriter Joey McGee joins us to engage in his initial track, “It’s Alright” It’s a track about getting the excellent with the lousy, and getting silver linings, even when it feels like there are not any.
You can catch Joey on Thursday, Feb. 25, around at City Table beginning at 6:30 p.m. or on Friday, Feb. 26, at the Pebble Creek Place Club Creekside Grille & Cantina setting up at 7 p.m.
If I was a smarter male
I woulda designed yet another program
Just one that I could realize . . . but hey
I prob’ly would not be right here
With all this goodness so in close proximity to
So I look all around, smile, take away my frown
And say that it is alright, yeah it is alright
If I was a braver male then, I prob’ly woulda took a stand
Even though he was a massive ole boy . . . but hey
We all enjoy what we sow
Karma come all over knockin’ at your door
So I look all over, see what is goin’ down
And say that it’s alright, yeah it’s alright
The sunshine is shining on these shades of grey
And I can see blue skies even when it rains
Therapeutic arrives when you been via ache
And circumstance normally gonna change
Really do not want a lotta cash
Don’t want a lotta fame
Gentleman, I satisfied me some excellent close friends
Travelin’ on the way
I’m mindin’ my Ps & Qs
Crack a smile even with the blues
And I seem around even in this town
And say it is alright, yeah it is alright
I stated I glimpse around, smile, remove my frown
And say that it’s alright – yeah it’s alright
