Art requires creative

LeCrue Eyebrows First Solo Exhibition at Van Der Plas Gallery

When I initial arrived on LeCrue Eyebrows‘ artworks on the streets of my metropolis, I was struck at when by its singular authenticity. Each individual piece intrigues, as it exudes a unique aura of secret. Visible meditations on this kind of universal themes as really like, loss and longing, the functions are subtly strong and strikingly wonderful.

Not to be skipped is the Queens-based mostly artist’s very first solo exhibition at Van Der Plas Gallery. At when quietly uncooked and soulfully stylish, every single get the job done tells a tale – to be freely interpreted by its viewer.  And just about every piece was designed freely and spontaneously, as very little that Lecrue produces is premeditated. The act of painting, itself, is to the artist “an extreme sort of meditation.”

The beguiling picture pictured previously mentioned, “Move with Me,” was fashioned this calendar year with acrylic on canvas. Many far more photos I captured whilst visiting “Primitive Form” past weekend stick to:

“Own Storm,” Acrylic on canvas, 2022

“Stand With Me,” Acrylic on canvas, 2022

“Her Breath in Time,” Acrylic on canvas, 2022

“Just Further than the Window,” Acrylic on canvas, 2022

And on a fairly distinctive take note — “Together,” Blended media on cold press paper, 2022

“Primitive Form” continues at Van Der Plas Gallery through October 23. Located at  156 Orchard Avenue, the gallery is open up Mon-Tue: 12pm-5pm, Wed-Sat: 11pm-6pm and Sunday: 11am-5pm. A closing reception will choose spot on Friday, Oct 21 from 6-8pm.
